- Abstract: Operating under arrangement between the Roanridge Foundation Board and the Division of Town and County, the Roanridge Training and Conference Center served not only as the center of the Division’s rural work for ministry development, but also as an education and resource center for churches in rural communities across the country. From 1945 until 1977, it hosted a number of training programs for seminarians and rural clergy, served as a center for research and information, managed an audio-video circulation library, and supported rural church consulting programs throughout the Church. Noteworthy activities taking place at Roanridge over the years included the Student Parish Training Program, the summer Vacation Church School Program for local area children, Church Army training sessions, Indian Work consultations, and meetings of the Rural Workers Fellowship. The research potential of this collection is best realized through its primary relationship with the DFMS National and Executive Council’s Division of Town and Country (Work).
