Abstract

Integrity, Inc. was founded in 1974 as the national organization of gay and lesbian Episcopalian, their friends, and families. The organization consisted of a national coordinating body and local chapters throughout the United States and Canada. Founder Louis Crew’s newsletter, Integrity Forum, served as a catalyst to the formation of the organization. At the 1976 General Convention in Minneapolis, Integrity established a critical presence in the institutional life of the church by its witness. It continued to have an active presence at General Conventions from 1977 to 2018. Integrity, Inc. was formally dissolved in 2022.
