Abstract

Samuel F. Hotchkin was a prominent nineteenth century clergyman from Bustleton, Philadelphia. He was ordained to the diaconate in 1860 and to the priesthood in 1861. He was a prolific writer of books and articles, primarily regarding early clergy and bishops of Pennsylvania and Delaware and theological matters.

Seven scrapbook volumes comprise this collection of Samuel F. Hotchkin’s articles and interests. Each volume contains an index. The articles cover a variety of subjects, persons, and places. Of note are a typescript index to the scrapbooks and a copy of Hotchkin’s obituary.
