Records of official canonical standing committees and commissions, boards, joint house committees, task groups, and similar authorized ad hoc bodies acting in the interim and at the direction of the General Convention; may include records either generated directly by the interim body or collected as part of the central files of the Secretariat. The category does not include the separate category of Executive Council, which also acts as the board of directors for the DFMS and may act in the place of (rather at the direction of) the General Convention.
The records of the Joint Commission on Renewal consist primarily of meeting minutes, correspondence, reports drafted by the Commission, and printed materials about renewal written by members of the Commission. There is also a small amount of correspondence and records about financial matters.

The official record on appeal is bound in four volumes, with a table of contents in the first volume. Records in these volumes include the original presentment, related correspondence, motions and court orders, transcripts of court proceedings, exhibits, and the notice of appeal. Notable among the exhibits are correspondence between Swanson and John Shelby Spong, and a transcript of Swanson's version of events leading up to the appeal. Records of the appeal proceedings are unbound and include the Appellant's Brief on Appeal, the Appellant's Reply Brief, the Decision of the Court of Review and a transcript of telephone conversations between Swanson and Denise Haines, the Archdeacon of Urban Ministry for the Diocese of Newark.

This small collection documents the work of the Rev. John F. Stevens in his role as Coordinator of the 1973 General Convention. Included are minutes, reports, correspondence, financial data and information regarding the planning and organizing of the 1973 General Convention.

Pusey’s 1966 Report of the Special Committee titled “Ministry for Tomorrow,” which helped inform the study of theological education undertaken by the Committee and directed by Charles Taylor. Taylor’s work from 1957 to 1967 is well documented and there is correspondence from his time as the director of the American Association of Theological Schools from 1957. Correspondence and reports were generated and collected before, during, and after visits to a number of seminary and theological schools, including Berkeley Divinity School, Episcopal Theological Seminary, and Sewanee.
