Correspondents include the Secretary of the Executive Committee (1820-1835); the Secretary-General Agent and Treasurer of the Domestic Committee (1835-1885); the Secretary and Treasurer of the Indian Commission (1874-1879); the Foreign Committee (1820-1886); Joshua Kimber (1873-1883); the General Secretary, Treasurer, and Staff of the Board (1877-1911); and the Spirit of Missions (1852-1862). The letters within the books are arranged chronologically, not by writer or topic.

This collection contains the minutes for the Board of Missions plenary body as well as its constituent committees, the Domestic Committee and the Foreign Committee, and a small number of associated publications, reports, and other records. Additionally, there is a small selection of minutes for sub-committees, such as the Finance Committees, the Indian Commission, and the Freedman’s Aid Commission.

Board of MissionsThis record group consists of seven hand-written documents which record the founding of the Dominican Episcopal Church in 1897, and the ordination of its leader, Benjamin I. Wilson, in 1898, under the aegis of the Haitian Orthodox Apostolic Church. Other historic documents, typescripts, and photographs represent the genesis and development of the Dominican Episcopal Church. Included are a “Covenant of Understanding” signed by Wilson and Bishop James Holly of the Haitian Church, and a testimonial in French signed by Monsieur A. Battiste, Chancellor of the Haitian Church. Also noteworthy are the Articles of Government of the Church of the Holy Trinity, a one-page document signed by representatives of the Church.
Episcopal Diocese of Haiti and San Pedro de Macoris of the Iglesia Episcopal DominicanaThe papers of Augustus Reginald Hoare comprise a small group of materials consisting of three diaries, two periodicals, two photographs, and one letter. The diaries cover the last years of Hoare's missionary service in Alaska (1912-1920), with a gap for the years 1918-1919 when he was in California. Most diary entries merely refer to daily conditions. The periodicals contain references to Hoare in articles concerning the Alaskan missions. Of interest is a letter from Bishop Peter T. Rowe of Alaska dated August 24, 1920 explaining the circumstances of Augustus Hoare's death.

National CouncilThese are the working files of the National Council for the years 1920 through 1936. The years 1930, 1933, 1934, and 1935 are fairly complete with the other years scantily represented. Material consists of correspondence, notes, memoranda, pamphlets, newspaper clippings, and some financial records of individuals’ gifts to the church. Most of the files are related to individuals, but there are also files for organizations, movements, conferences, and broad subjects. The material is arranged alphabetically within each year or span of years.
National CouncilThis collection contains reports generated during the National Council period. Most significantly, it contains a complete set of National Council Annual Reports and a large number of Church General Program and missionary bishop reports. It also contains a smaller number of Triennial reports, bylaws, Bulletins of the Presiding Bishop and Council, and Church Pension Fund reports.
